The Lodge

Sussi Lodge and Chuma House is the perfect place for excursions to view the Victoria Falls, trips around the small National Park, some fishing in the Zambezi, riverboat cruises or simply relaxing after a busy safari in the bush. Sitting on your private balcony in your exclusive treehouse is a wonderful way to spend the last few days of your safari. If you still want to see more game, the lodge provides a traditional safari vehicle for game drives within the zoological park. You can see White Rhino when you venture into the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Sussi and Chuma also lay on daily excursions to Victoria Falls, where you can wander along a rainforest path to numerous viewpoints revealing ever more spectacular sights. Umbrellas are provided to keep the spray off.

The Accommodation

Sussi Lodge has 10 gorgeous tree houses and Chma House is a 2 bedroom villa. Each of Sussi's treehouses are built into the living canopy of giant ebony trees and provide a private view of the Zambezi from their own private deck among the branches. Chuma House offers 2 en-suite bedrooms, one double room with a bath and outdoor shower and one twin room with a bath and in-door shower, a spacious lounge, dining area, kitchenette, outdoor veranda, barbeque area and private swimming pool. The second bedroom can be converted into a private office area with telephone and computer modem link. Additional facilities include Satellite TV and a fully stocked bar. Guests will have a private chef to cook all meals and a private guide, vehicle and boat for all activities.

The main lodge features a spectacular raised bar / lounge deck, open air dining area, swimming pool and lawns sweeping down to the water's edge. Resident wildlife, such as Elephant and Hippopotamus are likely to wander through the lodge grounds at any time. Sussi and Chuma offers a wide range of food and meals are served outdoors whenever possible, often around the evening campfire. A wide choice of activities adds to the attractions of this elegant, secluded retreat and you can take game drives through the Mosi-oa-Tunya Zoological Park, guided bush walks, canoe trips or sunset cruises, cultural visits or any of the wild adventures available in the area.

The Location

Located just 9 kilometres (5 miles) outside of Livingstone town, 20 minutes drive from Livingstone International Airport, Sussi and Chuma offers guests privacy, peace and inspiration! The location of the lodge on the edge of the Zambezi River in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park gives the added attraction of spectacular birdlife and game viewing as well as stunning scenic views.

Activities:

There is much to do at Sussi and Chuma, you will definitely not be bored. There are a full range of game drives in the National Park using open 4-wheel drive vehicles driven by a knowledgeable guide. If you feel like stretching your legs you can go on a nature walk in the National Park.

The Zambezi River above the Victoria Falls is wide and calm with a strong flow and it is a real pleasure to take a boat along the river where you can spot Hippos, Crocodiles and a lovely variety of birdsincluding lots of Herons, Kingfishers, Egrets and Fish Eagles.
