Day 1
After departing Johannesburg/Pretoria our first destination, once across the border of Botswana is Khama Rhino Sanctuary - the only reserve in the whole of Botswana which has Rhino. The Sanctuary covers approximately 4,300 hectares of Kalahari sandveld. After settling in we enjoy searching for all the wildlife the Sanctuary has to offer, endure the tranquility of the Bird Hide and watch the sunset over Malema's Pan. We return to our chalets and after our fulfilling meal, rest well for our adventure that lies ahead.
Day 2
We continue all along the edge of the pans, travelling past Thabashukudu we head for the main road between Nata and Maun. From here the road will take us to the "Gateway of the Okavango Delta" the place of "the short reeds", Maun. Our overnight stop, after what promises to be a most exciting day, Audi Camp... An optional flight over the Delta can be organized if you wish – an exhilarating experience!
Entering the Famous Botswana National Parks...
Day 3, 4 & 5
Shorobe will be the last village before we enter into the bush where the beauty of the Umbrella Thorn and the mere size of the Mopane trees will astonish you. We will head towards Xakanaka Camp in the Okavango Delta within the Moremi Game Reserve, which will serve as our base for the three nights following. Here we could encounter lion, wild dogs, and cheetah as this is a well known area for them as well as hippo and elephant at close quarters.
This unique game reserve was found under the government of Mrs. Moremi, the widow of Chief Moremi the III. It totals an area of 4872 Km² and is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta. This unique reserve is home to the Lechwe, the very rare Sitatunga, the Pels Fishing Owl and many more weird and wonderful creatures. We will see all the most beautiful wildlife and sites Moremi has to offer by 4x4 Game drives and motorboat excursions. These few days in this paradise will ensure you now that you are in Gods Own Country.
Day 6, 7 & 8
The 10 698Km² of the Chobe National Park awaits your presence once we have negotiated the Magwikhwe Sand Ridge, (the shoreline of the ancient inland lake that stretched from the Savuti Marsh to the Makgadikgadi Pans in the south). We enter into Chobe at Mababe Gate. The roar of the lion and most definitely the laugh of the hyaena will ensure this visit to be exciting and rewarding.
Please note - be prepared as this route to Chobe Safari Lodge will be made at a certain pace, as we travel north right through the National Parks.. some exciting bumpy roads will be ahead. An alternative route can be taken around the National Parks to the lodge, to avoid the bumpy roads however will take the same length of time...
We head in the direction of Kasane and our lodge in the northern most part of the Chobe. But be prepared, as sand and bumpy roads will test our nerves to the utmost. We will stay at Chobe Safari Lodge near the place where four countries meet, the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezirivers.
Day 9, 10 & 11
The border crossing into Zambia will be an experience as we board the ferry at Kazungula and make our way to the shores of the Zambezi river and our lodge Thorntree River Lodge just outside the town of Livingstone.
Livingstone and Victoria Falls:
The next two days you will see yourself exploring Livingstone and Victoria Falls and for the brave, Bungi jumping, River rafting, canoeing and microlight flights over the "Mosi oa Tunya" or "The Smoke that Thunders". This is the place where Dr. David Livingstone wrote the following."so beautiful the angels must have gazed upon it in their flight". You will be our guests on a sundowner cruise, be warned the sunset will take your breath away.
Day 12
