After departing Johannesburg / Pretoria our first destination, once across the border of Botswana is Khama Rhino Sanctuary - the only reserve in the whole of Botswana which has Rhino. The Sanctuary covers approximately 4,300 hectares of Kalahari sandveld. We return to our campsite and after our fulfilling meal, rest well for our adventure that lies ahead.

Our route will take us to Palapye then Serowe to the town on the edge of the endless Makgadikgadi Pans, Letlhakane. After the last refuelling point, we continue our journey past the village of Matshumu where within a few kilometres we will have our first view of the pans. Mystical Kubu Island is our overnight destination. It is extremely difficult to describe the atmosphere that enfolds this vast expanse of 12 000 km² of nothingness, the subtle hues at sunset that change the landscape into a wonderland of surrealistic beauty.
Day 3
We continue all along the edge of the pans, travelling past Thabashukudu we head for the main road between Nata and Maun. Day 4
For the next 6 days you will be away from the shops, fuelling stations, etc. etc. so fill up all you've got and lets hit the road. Shorobe will be the last village before we enter into the bush where the beauty of the Umbrella Thorn and the mere size of the Mopane trees will astonish you. We will set up camp at one of the public campsites within the Moremi Game Reserve, which will serve as our base for the three nights followin g. Here we could encounter lion, wild dogs, and cheetah as this is a well known area for them as well as hippo and elephant at close quarters.
Day 5
This unique game reserve was found under the government of Mrs. Moremi, the widow of Chief Moremi the III. It totals an area of 4872 Km² and is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta. This unique reserve is home to the Lechwe, the very rare Sitatunga, the Pels Fishing Owl and many more weird and wonderful creatures. We will visit place like Mboma Island, Goaxhlo Island "the place of the spear", Third Bridge and lots more.
